Flexible Security
If your computer is stolen
1. All Webm8 data files are encrypted using the Blowfish algorithm with a 256 bit key. With current technology, it is not possible to decrypt these files without the key.
2. The key is only generated at runtime based on your master password. Reverse engineering or "Hacking" the executable file to bypass the sign on screen will not reveal your data.
In a safe environment
Many password managers hide your passwords forever. If you have forgotten one and want to know what it is - tough! With Webm8 activated with editing, you can check a password or any other hidden information by unchecking the "Hide" option in the editor.
In a low risk environment
If you use Webm8 in an environment where there is no danger of someone actually using it to log on to one of your sites, but you still wouldn't like anyone to see your passwords, you can activate it without access to the editor.
In a high risk environment
In a high risk environment, there really is no substitute for logging off your Windows account. If you don't want to do that, you can safely leave WebM8 running by clicking the "Deactivate" button and if you think you might forget to do that, you can set WebM8 to auto-deactivate after as little as one minute of inactivity on your PC.
In a company environment
Where WebM8 is deployed to users on machines administered by I.T. staff, the program and options can be set up by the I.T. department with an administrator's password and the user can be given a user's password which will allow him to use the program but not edit the data.
