Filling a shape with a texture
The following example demonstrates the principles.
To create
1. Draw the shape on the Curve Draw canvas:
Click finished and trim of the excess canvas with the cropper.
Right click in the inside of the fish and change the color to black
Now add a color block large enough to cover the fish
Using the block coloring control panel,
draw a color gradient top to bottom - black to white
Then add the fish scales texture (bottom left in the block coloring control panel)
Now click on the fish drawing to select it and use the Bring to Front button to put it on top of the color block
With the fish selected, click the Transparent option. When asked to click on the transparent color, click inside the fish.
The color block behind now shows through
Add the eye from the add clip art button
Now, starting from the canvas, draw a box round all three items and click the "Merge" button that appears top right.
You now have a single image. Use the cropper to remove the excess scales from the left hand side. Click the Transparent option again but this time, when asked which color to make transparent, click on the blue area.
